Ngumpul-ngumpul Product Manager Ngopi Bang pt 2 - oleh Gurun Nevada
So, let me tell you about my first time attending an awesome offline meeting of Indonesia product managers!
“Percaya sama lepas tangan itu beda tipis.” :))
This is one of the random quotes that emerged from the insightful discussion of “Ngopi Bang! - Ngobrol Offline Produk Indonesia Bareng Gurun” that took place today, October 14, 2023 at Filosofi Kopi Blok M Melawai. It was truly a remarkable event that brought together professionals from various industries who are passionate about Product Management. There should definitely be more of these kinds of gatherings in the future, as they provide a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
The session was organized by the amazing Mas Gurun, whose efforts in bringing the community together are highly appreciated.
It all started with seeing Mas Gurun's inspiring post on social media, which openly invited fellow product managers or anyone interested in the world of Product Management to gather offline. Intrigued by the opportunity, I mustered the courage to contact him via LinkedIn chat to express my earnest desire to attend the event. With the main goal of gaining valuable insights and a realistic understanding of what it truly means to work as a product manager, I eagerly joined the gathering. Although I came alone, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable and enriching.
And I must say, my goal was certainly achieved. Throughout the event, thought-provoking questions were raised to stimulate open discussions and facilitate sharing of knowledge and experiences among the senior Product Manager professionals present. As someone who has already walked the path of a PM, I found the topics discussed to be highly relatable and relevant. It was reassuring to hear about the challenges faced by others and to realize that the feelings of impostor syndrome that sometimes creep in are not uncommon. The reality is, being a Product Manager is no easy task, and it requires a unique set of skills and qualities.
(spoiler alert: not everyone is fit to be a PM)
Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this gathering of Product Managers. It was a truly enriching experience that has expanded my knowledge and understanding of the field. I look forward to future events like this, where professionals can come together to learn, grow, and support one another in their Product Management journeys.
